Morro Branco

"From canyon to canyon.."

If you are in Fortaleza anyway, you should definitely go on an excursion to Morro Branco. Morro Branco is known for its beautiful canyons, coloured cliff faces and immense dunes. If you arrive in the morning, you should first go on a walk through the canyons and observe the various colours of fine sand that formed over ten thousand years ago. The local population uses this sand for making extremely beautiful and unique souvenirs. After the walk you enter the dunes with your tour guide and enjoy an exquisite lunch at one of the restaurants along the beach (optional). On the way back you stop for a visit at the extraordinary factory, where rapadura (sugarcane juice) and farinha (shrimp manioc root) are made. At the end of the afternoon you return to Fortaleza.
