Day Pipa

For anyone inexplicably without the time to spare to take the 2-day excursion to Praia da Pipa the 1-day excursion is also available, although this means you only catch a snatch of all the wonderful things to see. You leave Natal by morning bus on the normal road to Pipa, where halfway you visit the local fruit market in the village of Sao Jose de Mipibu. Then it’s on towards Pipa. Even before lunchtime a great boat trip awaits you on board an original Brazilian schooner, from where you see Pipa from a different angle including the famous Praia do Amor with its beautiful red sandstone dunes, the falesias. The whole coast appears as a panorama before your eyes before the boat anchors at Praia do Madeiro where you can take a refreshing dive. Before diving in, makes sure you are not heading towards a dolphin, because this is the place where they gather. If you can’t photograph them here, the next chance you get will be at your local dolphinarium…. This incredible experience is followed by lunch at the local speciality restaurant Lampiao at the end of the quiet but friendly village street of Praia da Pipa. After lunch you have time to take a relaxing walk through the protected nature reserve ‘Sanctuarium’. If you are lucky, a Mico (small monkey) will swing past your nose. We end the walk after a steep descent into Praia do Madeiro where you still have a little time to for relaxation before the journey back to Natal.
