Day 1: Amsterdam - Natal - Barra do Cunhaú
Today you fly from Amsterdam to Natal. Upon arrival, our tour guide will take you to the first hotel of our roundtrip: Pousada do Forte

Day 2: Barra do Cunhaú - Maria Farinha
Your first introduction to the northeast of Brazil is totally devoted to the overwhelming nature of this wonderful area. After breakfast you leave for the state of Pernambuco. Driving through the countryside of the states of Rio Grande do Norte and Paraiba, while you can enjoy the vast sugarcane fields up close.
After the extensive information that your guide will provide in general and of course as introduction to the country, you will arrive at the Fort Orange and you will follow in the footsteps of Maurice of Nassau. You have arrived at the spot where Maurice arrived hundreds of years ago and built a Dutch fort. This fort was excavated a few years ago and was not seen since the Portuguese fort was built on top of the dutch fort.
You already had the first surprise. After touring the fort, the adventure really begins, there is a boat waiting for you to visit the island of Coroa do avião, perhaps one of the most beautiful islands here in the northeast where you will find white sandy beach and crystal clear water at certain times of the year. Lunch will be served at the island and you have plenty of time to recover from the long sitting in the bus.
You can walk around the island,of only 500 x 100 meters. At the back of the island at low tide dozens of local fishermen can be seen, busy with their daily catch. After this, you will departure by boat to the hotel in Maria Farinha. The beautiful view from the water you can really imagine how Maurice of Nassau saw the fort hundreds of years ago, sailing along.
Enjoy the beautiful sunset from the boat and the many species of birds that have nested in the mangroves. After a warm welcome with a welcome drink at the hotel pier of Amoaras (literally translated from Tupi: always come back!) You can slowly move to your room to freshen up for a fun evening.

Day 3: Maria Farinha-Recife-Olinda
After breakfast we will visit the city of Olinda. This city is so beautiful ("Oh Linda" is the Portuguese translation) that it even appears on the UNESCO. Here are the finest and best restored remains of the Portuguese and Dutch domination of this region in the seventeenth century. Afterwards you will visit the nearby capital of Recife, with some beautifully old and protected buildings that stayed preserved. Really nice to see, for example is: the Rua de Bom Jesus, during the Dutch domination of the Jews as you can read on the street sign. What also indicates that the Dutch were already tolerant towards other religions in opposite of for instance, the strict Catholic Portuguese. The first Jewish synagogue in the Rua de Bom Jesus is now an information center on Jewish history in South America. After all these impressions you will get back to the hotel where the rest of the day you can enjoy  and rest at the beautiful swimming pool and on the beach of the hotel or make a delightful walk at the beach to the mouth of the river along the shore of Maria Farinha.
The evening is in agreement with the guide filled of fun with a delicious BBQ and campfire on the beach.

Very special!

Day 5: Nova Jerusalem - Brejo da Madre de Deus - Nova Jerusalem
The fifth day of this fascinating tour takes you to the villages of Brejo da Madre de Deus and Encantado, beautifully situated in the mountains. You go trough these villages with a jeep into the hills and into the beautiful surrounding area. After visiting Brejo da Madre de Deus you will drive into the mountains and stop for a short walk in the tropical rainforest, where your guide will tell you everything about the diverse flora and fauna present. Afterwards you will arrive at the farm called "Encantado". After lunch, we will start slowly on your way back to the hotel. Enjoy the wonderful ride along the way before you arrive in the theater hotel. Here you can find at the end of the afternoon the time to relax and walk around the theater. The evening can, thanks to the helpful owner, end on a theatrical celebration again.

Recife
The footsteps of Dutch ancestors across the Atlantic. Not altogether lost, due to their importance in the founding and development of the multicultural capital of the state of Pernambuco. It was here that Prince Maurits of Nassau built the first bridge in South America and ordered his town planners to build a well laid out town, which formed the basis of the present-day Recife. The building work of Maurits and then the Portuguese is now visible in all its glory in the old centre - Recife Antiga - thanks to thorough renovation work. This area is now the most important place for social gatherings in the evenings because a number of streets are closed to traffic so that tables and chairs can spill out onto the streets. Here many Brazilians – some still with Dutch names – savour the delicious meat and fish dishes for which the region is famous, before the drinking and dancing gets underway. Live music - Frevo, the Pernambucan version of the samba - is never far away. It is necessary to practise for the carnival, so popular here that it is held twice per year.
However, the city is more than just a historic city along a beautiful beach. It is also the regional centre for the economy, culture, education, sport and tourism, in which over three million inhabitants seek to earn a living. And with great success, judging from the wealth of the city, so picturesquely lying on a river island along the coast.

Olinda
‘Oh, how beautiful’ – in Portuguese ‘O linda’ – exclaimed the first Portuguese governor Duarte Coelho when he first saw the site for the town he wanted to build. And that, according to tradition, is how the town came to be christened in 1535. Duarte Coelho was right: the surroundings of Olinda are breathtaking, from the coastline to the top of the hills on which the high town is built in a lavish colonial baroque style that is without equal. Today, the renovated Olinda seems like an open air museum: as far as the eye can see there are vibrantly painted churches, cloisters and colonial homes set off against the green of the palm trees and the sea. Most buildings date from the Dutch occupation (1636-1654), when the Dutch first arrived here and decided to raise everything to the ground because they thought that nearby Recife was more beautiful. After they were virtually forced out, Olinda rose from the ashes and in 1676 became the state capital, a position it finally surrendered again to Recife in 1827, which grew into a world city entirely eclipsing Olinda. These days, however, tourists have every reason to be happy, because now Olinda really is the Pearl of Pernambuco.
