Amazon Adventure
Your incredible stay at Tiwa Amazone Eco Resort will be full board, including a package of excursions. Refreshments and extras contained in your luxury chalet are not included.

Day 1
Arrival at Natal airport and transfer to Hotel Pestana on the Via Costeira for your first night’s accommodation. 

Day 2
Flight from Natal to Manaus. You will be picked up at the airport and taken to the Tiwa Amazone EcoResort. You will be given an introduction and tour round the resort, together with an explanation about the Tiwa jungle. We will show you a film about the Amazon and then you can check in.

Day 3
A jungle hike in Tiwa jungle. On today’s menu is a spectacular walk through the tall jungle around the Rio Negro expertly led by a true jungle guide who will be able to tell you lots about the ecological and medical wonders contained within the Amazon jungle.

Day 4
A fascinating visit to a Caboclo river home to see the traditional methods of production of Mandioca and Faroffa.

Day 5
Today we will fish for piranhas and spend the evening looking out for crocodiles. The combination of an ‘eco’ holiday and true comfort is something to be experienced. You will begin to feel drawn to the green magnificence of the Amazon. Remote from the samba, carnival and celebrations you will find peace, tranquillity and harmony and experience one of the richest sources of flora and fauna in the world. The sounds of the jungle…The sound of silence…

Day 6
A day to spend in any way you wish. 

Day 7
Meeting of the Waters. A wonderful 4-hour boat journey to see the place where the black water of the Rio Negro meets the brown water of the Solimões river, together forming the stupendous Amazon.

Day 8
Your final day at EcoResort – your week is sadly over and it is time to check out. You will be brought to the airport for the internal flight to Natal. You will be picked up at the hotel and brought to your accommodation at Hotel Pestana.

Days 9 to 14
Enjoy your comfortable 5* stay in Hotel Pestana on bed and breakfast basis. 

Days 15 and 16
Flight from Natal on Monday, arriving back at Amsterdam on Tuesday. 

General information:
The exclusive Tiwa Amazone EcoResort opened its doors in June 2003. This wonderful resport lies on the beach of the 9 km wide Rio Negro. The resort is built around a naturally-formed lake surrounded by an area of tropical rainforest. The Tiwa Amazone EcoResort lies facing the jungle town of Manaus and the boulevard Ponta Negra. The boat trip from the resort to Ponta Negra takes approximately 15 minutes and is free of charge. The resort offers a free shuttle service across the river until 11 p.m. After that time, it is often possible to arrange a special crossing with reception.  

The ecopark naturally observes ‘green’ rules:
The resort has its own fresh water supply; waste is efficiently processed and energy is conserved as far as possible. All measures are adopted with an eye to improving the environment and creating a healthy future. And last but not least: the Tiwa Amazone EcoResort strives to help preserve one of the world’s greenest habitats: the tropical rainforest.  

Accommodation:
The apartments that line the edge of the jungle are richly and comfortably designed. They consist of ‘semi-detached’ cabins on stilts, with big sliding doors leading out onto large verandas. A high roof provides natural ventilation and a generous-sized mezzanine with space for a 3rd and 4th bed. The stilt cabins all lie along the lake which is fed by its own water source. The complex is surrounded by a tropical rainforest of astounding beauty. 

Facilities:
The resort has a large swimming pool 550 m2 in size fed from its own water supply. The water is recycled. You can also safely swim in the Rio Negro. The fantastic restaurant offers a genuine Brazilian barbecue, but the menu also includes other delicious local and international dishes. There is a bar, library and games room, plus showers and toilets, all located in the main building which is an impressive 10 metres in height and boasts and impressive roof of palm leaves. From here you will have a wonderful view of the Rio Negro. Various sporting activities are organised on the beach and in the pool: options include sailing, surfing, catamarans, water biking and canoeing. The list is endless.

This hike will take you into remote jungle where, under expert guidance, you will find out about the jungle, plants and trees, their fruits and medicinal properties and how you can orientate yourself in a jungle environment. VISIT AN ORIGINAL RUBBER PLANTATION: 
Jouney by boat to an original rubber plantation dating from the 19th century, where you will discover how rubber was manufactured and something about the lives (and suffering) of the workers from those early days.

VISIT A TRADITIONAL INDIAN TRIBE:
This is a very special excursion! The tribe that you will visit lives on the edge of a small settlement where it continues to live according to its traditions and customs.
